A statement addressing, among other matters, the need to mobilise all stakeholders regarding the impending developments at the Public Power Corporation (PPC), given that the contribution of lignite activity to the GDP of the Region of Western Macedonia is highly significant according to a new study published by the Technical Chamber of Greece. In more detail, reference was made to the following issues:
the study by the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Macedonia Section on the “Evaluation of the contribution of economic sectors to the productive model of Western Macedonia, with an emphasis on the impact of the lignite industry”
the remarks by the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Macedonia Section “concerning the assumption of environmental responsibility for mining activity and power generation in Western Macedonia”
the intervention by the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Macedonia Section regarding the “revival of plans to construct the 200 MW photovoltaic park at the mines in Western Macedonia”.
