“Some of us”… dedicated to a Europe that does not suit us…

Some of us… grew up with the vision of Europe, of a unified space, of shared visions, of integrated planning.

We accepted them 'axiomatically' and moved forward… and as passionate individuals, we defended these ideals, adopted them, made them our own, fought, clashed, endured, smiled, participated…

The beauty of human nature, of being alive, of fighting for what you believe in… for what you love…

Some of us considered it a step towards universality… where colour… gender… age… nationality or anything else that has been 'invented' to ostensibly divide people is virtually non-existent, because we ought to celebrate human existence as an entity, as a right of expression… as energy… as a unique source of passion and creativity… without divisions… without restrictions… without 'us and them'…

We believed that being 'progressive', in the true sense of the word and not in terms of partisan alignments, is an honour; we fought and are fighting for this…

We believe this United Europe of interests rather than principles does not suit us…

Because some of us will continue to fight… to be passionate…
Call us hopelessly romantic if you will… call us inexperienced, gullible, or utopian… but we will continue to envision…

What is happening today is nothing more than the reflection of our behaviours on a more collective level… because the leaderships we have are the ones we deserve… let 'some of us' not be surprised and simply note Europe's 'deficit' of politicians, but let us be ready to make decisions…

Crisis brings opportunities… our opportunity now is to separate the 'wheat from the chaff', the truly progressive from the conservative… for those of us who still have a passion for life… where solidarity will prevail as an idea… will be a passion… and not just a concept devoid of substance…

For this Europe, 'some of us', few or many it matters not, must treat them as they ought to have been…
