On populism and “communication”…

Populism, regardless of the side from which it is expressed, acts as a stumbling block to the development and proper functioning of our region. Its existence strengthens “cliques”, “directorates”, “partisanship”, and small, ephemeral “triumphs” that are essentially insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Politics is not conducted through the “appearances” of “communication”, but through acts of substance. And it is a problem when the former is elevated to substance, a lesson we learned from the crisis.
The technocratic approach to issues and the subsequent formulation of well-conceived politics are the means to achieve our goal. So that we might have real “triumphs”, be they small or large…
