On 18 September 2025, working sessions of the European Commission's Just Transition Platform and Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy began in Florina, chaired by Active Youths OENEF.
European Commission officials and representatives of 21 transitioning regions from across the European Union took part. Since 2021, the Platform's working groups have brought together regional actors to exchange experience and prepare proposals for the current 2021–2027 programming period and the next EU budget cycle.
Within this institutional dialogue, the Western Macedonia Strategic Hub was presented as a collective regional coordination model. The contribution was prepared with the team of the Western Macedonia Regional Development Fund and partner organisations, with the Fund's Director General contributing within his institutional responsibility.
The discussion focused on practical cooperation, interconnected services and shared data, so that the transition of Western Macedonia towards a new productive model is supported by a coherent ecosystem rather than isolated structures.
