Working Group from the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Macedonia Section on the topic: “Assessment of the contribution of economic sectors to the productive model of Western Macedonia, with an emphasis on the impact of the lignite industry”

By means of decision no. A3/D.E./S19/2019, the Steering Committee assigned a Working Group for the “Study estimating the transition cost of Western Macedonia to a zero lignite production regime – examination of scenarios”. The Project Group will immediately update the indicators and scenarios for our Region's transition to zero lignite production in order to highlight the scale of the problem.

It is noted that the Technical Chamber of Greece – Western Macedonia Section has already supported the region through successive interventions, highlighting at both national and European levels the contribution of lignite activity to the local economy, with its most recent intervention being the “Assessment of the contribution of economic sectors to the productive model of Western Macedonia, with an emphasis on the impact of the lignite industry”
